The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word meaning ‘woman caregiver’, and in my practice I offer support to women and their partners before, during and after childbirth. My role is to help facilitate safe, positive and empowering birthing experiences by offering the information, emotional support and physical support needed during this exciting time in your lives.

Every person, family, and birth is different. I will take the time to sit down, get to know you and your needs and take on whatever role you will need. Whether it's a calm presence or someone encouraging you the entire time, I strive to fill the role that you most need. Although doula's can do a lot of things, there are some things we cannot do. I do not do provide any medical procedures, diagnosis, or give medical advice. I don't exclude or push away your birth partner from the process. It is part of my job to include them and help them be apart of your birth and feel like they have helped during the process. And I do not make any decisions for you regarding your birth.

As your birth doula, I will provide you with all the information you need to make informed and educated decisions that will work best for you. I can support you for your home birth, at a birth center, or if you choose a hospital setting. If you wish to have an un-medicated birth or plan to have a cesarean, I can offer you education and support whichever way you choose to birth your child. My desire and purpose is to provide you with the knowledge and confidence to birth the way you feel is best. My goal is that you know your options, feel supported in your decisions, and have a positive beginning to your life as a parent.
